Who should replace Jessie J on The Voice?

Following the news that Jessie J won’t be returning for the third series of BBC 1′s The Voice, we’re asking: who should replace her? Our money’s on a big name pop starlet…

The Voice

Front-runners

We reckon these lovely ladies are in with a chance of scoring the potentially lucrative contract.

Pixie Lott

Her third album is on the way, but Pixie Lott would be an inspired choice for a judging slot on The Voice. The high-profile star has a corking voice, a pop-star persona, and we reckon she could hold her own against Will.I.Am. Just.

Emeli Sande

An obvious choice after her performances at the Olympics opening and closing ceremonies. The only question is, can Emeli really stop us turning off post-auditions? Perhaps not.

Rita Ora

She’s got the ‘tude, the style, the credibility… we don’t think Rita would do a bad job of filling Jessie’s considerably-sized shoes at all. Plus she’d have plenty of Tom Jones-esque stories about Rihanna which we’re dying to hear.

Outsiders

OK, so we doubt they’re queuing up for the job, but it wouldn’t be that surprising if the BBC signed any of these girls.

Cheryl Cole

It would be the ultimate revenge on Simon Cowell after her not-so-subtle sack from The X Factor USA, and we’re not entirely sure what Chezza’s plans are post Girls Aloud/X-Factor/solo career, which makes us think: could Cheryl be the next Jessie? Only time will tell.

Fergie

Black Eyed Peas bandmate Will.I.Am could pull some strings, we’re sure, and scoring an international star would be a mahusive coup for The Voice. But will she be keen to leave her new son/daughter for filming commitments?

Pink

2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival - Day 2 - Roaming

She’s still pretty busy with her music and acting careers, but we think Pink would be an AMAZE judge on The Voice. She definitely has the kudos and the credibility, and easily matches Jessie in the vocal talents and girl power stakes.

The (we can only) dream girls

Ok, ok. So this is slightly ambitious. But if the BBC were to sign any of these gals, we’d defs tune in. PROMISE.

Taylor Swift

The Fragrance Foundation Awards

She’s a bonafide superstar who writes her own songs – you can’t get much more authentic than that, and The Voice is about nothing if not autheticity. Seriously though, how great would it be if the Swiftster took to the judging seat between Tom Jones and Will.I.Am?! Totally great is the answer you’re looking for.

Rihanna

She’s said that London is her second home, and RiRi would provide a much-needed energy injection to the tired Voice format. Our concerns are mostly that the licence fee would have to double to pay for her, and that she might eat Danny for breakfast before the auditions have even started. Eek.
